The Coromandel Crusade Continues!

So many of the stories of The Z-Nail Gang have been inspired by and woven together from actual events that have taken place in the Coromandel over the last 30 years.  Today Anton and I begin a weekend of visiting many of those significant people and places again now the film is almost complete.

Today we had the privilege of spending time with the Coromandel Watchdog committee - some of whom were involved with events depicted in the film, others who have subsequently joined the battle, and we were reminded that the reality and risk remains the same - pristine native environment is still being threatened by huge international mining corporations.  To them, this is not a celebration of a past victory, but a ready reminder of a continuing crusade.

We are also starting to book in the movie with cinemas and had a great reception with the owner of Thames multiplex - very excited to say that The Z-Nail Gang will be screening in this beautiful cinema in only a matter of months...

Watch this space for further updates of our travels - tomorrow Whitianga, GreenSpot, Moututere & Kuaotunu...

Hi there wondering if the movie is completed or if there is still time to add some music? I am sure you know of the song Coromandel Gold (don't you dig it) by Tribrations? from 1979,I do a version of it that is kind of a rootsy acoustic updated version if you would like something from Here on The Coromandel by someone who has been involved as a musician and protester over the years. Also have other anti mining songs and my whole catalogue of other material as well.you can got to the above website or facebook for a sample.Would love to be involved in any way. Thanks and awesome that this movie is happening.Kia Kaha.Dylan
